What Is The One Baptism That Is Now In Effect?

This question comes from Ephesians 4:1-6: "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

Is Galatians 3:26-28 Proof That Woman May Serve In Spiritual Positions of Authority Over Men?

Galatians 3:26-28 has been misused and abused by feminists and brethren who are seeking to restructure the church of Jesus Christ. It has been ripped out of its present context to supposedly prove that women may serve in the same spiritual positions over men such as preaching, scripture reading, presiding over the Lord's Supper, leading the prayer, and leading singing.

What Is The Sprinkling of 1 Peter 1:2?

Many denominations twist 1 Peter 1:2 to advocate that another mode of "baptism" is sprinkling - but that is not what this verse means. The sprinkling of the blood in the Old Testament was an essential component in the sacrificial system of the Law of Moses in Leviticus. Peter's audience were Jewish Christians who would have understood the background of this concept significantly (1 Peter 1:1).

What Is The Foolishness of Preaching?

"Please explain 1 Corinthians 1:18-27. What did Paul mean by the "foolishness of preaching"? Was he stating that preaching is foolishness?"

Corinth, in the first century A.D., was one of the most corrupt cities in the ancient world. The marvelous power of the gospel is found in the conversion of the Corinthians in that they turned from inordinate immorality (Acts 18:1-17; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).

Can A Person Be Taught Wrong, Yet Immersed Scripturally?

John the Immerser taught the people that they must repent of their sins - one of the conditions of receiving the remission of sins (Matthew 3:1,2; Luke 3:7-14). In Matthew 3:7-9, John the Immerser refused to immerse some people. Why?

Are We Adding To The Finished Work of Christ On The Cross When We Tell Others That They Must Be Baptized For The Remission of Sins?

There are several denominations that assert that if you teach a non-Christian that he/she must be immersed in water for the remission of their sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16) you are actually adding to the finished work of Christ on the cross.

How Are People Baptized By One Spirit Into One Body?

1 Corinthians 12:13 states: "For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body; whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free; and have all been made to drink into one Spirit."

The immersion mentioned here is an immersion that results in people being placed into the body of Christ. The body of Christ is the church of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23). Which immersion results in people being placed into the body of Christ - the immersion in the Holy Spirit or water immersion?

Is A Non-Christian Saved When He/She Is Married To A Christian?

"But to the rest I, not the Lord, say: If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not divorce her. And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise, your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace. For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?"

Will God Judge Those Who Have Never Heard The Gospel?

First, all accountable people have sinned against God (Romans 3:23). Sin is the PROBLEM that separates all accountable persons from God and will lead to a person's soul and body dwelling in hell forever - if not remedied (Matthew 10:28; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 6:23; Revelation 21:8).

Does The Resurrection of Jesus Save Us And Not Water Baptism?

1 Peter 3:18-21 states: "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. There is also an antitype which now saves us-baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him."

Is It Ever Too Late For The Non-Christian To Respond To The Invitation of Jesus?

Jesus Christ desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). Only two events would cause the non-Christian's response to be too late:

Do God's Instructions on the Roles of Men and Women Apply to Christians Only?

The answer is no. They apply to both Christians and non-Christians. For example, one of the reasons Paul gives for a female not to teach or have authority over the man is because "Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression" (1 Timothy 2:12-14). The roles of male and female have been a universal law applying to believers as well as non-believers ever since the Garden of Eden (as have murder, deceiving, disobeying God, etc.). This is true also under the New Testament as is indicated by these passages: 1 Corinthians 11:2-16; 14:34,35; 1 Timothy 2:8-15; 1 Peter 3:1-7.

Is The Thief On The Cross The Example We Ought To Follow In Regards To How One Should Be Saved From Sin?

    No.

One of the main reasons people object to baptism is because of the example of the thief on the cross. The argument usually goes something like this: The thief was not baptized. The thief was saved. Therefore, a person does not have to be baptized to be saved. However, the thief on the cross is not a valid example for the following reasons:
