Read More…I had a false sense of confidence in my knowledge of the Bible. Sure, I had memorized many single verses, and even a few multiple verse passages in bible school, or was assigned to read as I grew and became a young Christian being baptized for the remission of my sin…but I did not (and can honestly say still do not) claim to know every “jot and tittle” of the Bible.

Read MoreSome years ago, a brother in Christ was riding in the car with me and a few other preachers returning from dinner to a conference. A conversation came up regarding a certain questionable action that some were in disagreement of whether it was a serious issue or not. This particular question was about a strong suggestion regarding people swimming at the public venue (hotel/conference center) where we were at. All of a sudden, this brother said “why do you hate swimming?”
Read MoreWe all should want to worship God. There are enough verses in the Bible to signify the importance, command, inference, and desires of God Himself for us to see that He indeed wants us to worship Him and Him alone!

We were on I-65 north just outside of Montgomery. We had stopped at this sweets store that had a pink cow…yes, a real pink cow (It closed a few years afterwards) and had been laughing about that for miles…and then…there it was! I was like “WOW, did you see that sign?”

Read MoreDwight Moody gave a candid look into the reality of Satan working in our lives when he said, “I believe Satan to exist for two reasons: first, the Bible says so; and second, I’ve done business with him.” If Christians are not careful, we can become immune to the idea of Satan and His Power and overlook the challenges he brings to our lives today.
Read MoreTonight was “singing night” at the local congregation where we attend. About once a month, we gather together to focus on singing songs of praise in worship to God, giving us a chance to learn songs that we may not normally sing, and allow for those who normally do not lead singing to be able to join in as a part of their service to God - whereas other times they may not have opportunity. As we were singing, i was reminded of a verse that may be overlooked in the idea of what our God wants in worship to Him.
