Article - You Know You Are In The Wrong Church When ... (part 2)

…Your church adds to Jesus’ Word (Revelation 22:18-19), examples:

  1. YOU ADD HUMMING, CLAPPING, CHOIRS, SOLOS or INSTRUMENTS to your worship rather than simply having scriptural, congregational singing only: Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 2:12
     
  2. YOU ADD A MAN-MADE NAME TO YOUR CHURCH rather than naming it after Christ only: Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:4; Romans 16:16
     
  3. YOU ADD A MAN-MADE NAME TO YOUR DESCRIPTION or AFFILIATION rather than simply being a Christian only and being affiliated with Christ and His church only: Acts 11:26; 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16
     
  4. YOU ADD/ALLOW WOMEN TO PREACH AND LEAD IN YOUR WORSHIP, rather than using male leaders only as the Bible commands: 1 Corinthians 14:34-35; 1 Timothy 2:8, 11-15(pertains to worship, 1 Timothy 3:15)
     
  5. YOU ADD TITLES LIKE REVEREND, FATHER or POPE TO YOUR CHURCH LEADERS (also allowing them to wear robes, etc.): Matthew 23:6-12; 1 Corinthians 3:5-7
     
  6. YOU ADD/ALLOW RANDOM CHAOS IN YOUR WORSHIP in the form of shouting, rolling around in the aisle, “speaking” in unknown tongues/languages rather than decency and orderliness: 1 Corinthians 14:27-30, 34-35, 40 (Note: the apostles were sitting when immersed with God’s Spirit: Acts 2:1-4, 7-8, 11)
