Article - One Kingdom under God (part 2)

As it was the responsibility of Jesus’ kingdom in the 1st century to take the whole gospel to all nations (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16; Acts 8:4; 20:27-32; Colossians 1:23), so also it is the responsibility of the kingdom of the 21st century to take the gospel to all nations as they fall into the snare of sin (Romans 3:23; 6:23; 10:14-18; Ephesians 4:14-16; 1 Peter 3:15; Jude 1:3). Along with preaching Jesus’ one true kingdom, how to enter into His one true church, and how to remain faithful in His one true body, Jesus’ kingdom must also warn unrighteousness people/nations that “the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners…” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Those who practice sinful works will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). Impenitent souls will not have ANY inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God (Ephesians 5:3-5). When the citizens of this world reject the message of the kingdom and continue in sin, the children of Jesus’ kingdom must turn away from such people and not support their evil ways (Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 15:33-34; 2 Timothy 3:1-5; 2 John 1:9-11). The United States of America is no longer “One Nation under God”. But the church of Christ, the “One Kingdom under God”, can save her! It is time for us to take a more active role in winning the hearts, minds and souls of our secular nation by realizing they are lost because they are seeking to establish their own righteousness and are not submitting to the righteousness of God (Romans 10:1-3). “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34). We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world, and we are not to be “ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation…” (Matthew 5:13-16; Romans 1:16). What are you personally doing to change the direction of our society? Redeem the time (Ephesians 5:15-17; Colossians 4:2-6)!
