Is Committing Fornication Prior to Marriage a Scriptural Reason for Divorce and Remarriage?
There are some cases where a person scripturally marries but then discovers that his/her spouse had committed fornication prior to them getting married. Are these types of cases included in the exception of Matthew 5:31,32 and 19:9, thus authorizing the innocent party to divorce and remarry?
No.
Jesus’ law of marriage, divorce, and remarriage (including the exception) in Matthew 5:31-32 and Matthew 19:9 is in the context of those who are married, not those who are not married or who are engaged to be married.
